The 9th annual Hooked on Art will be held at Bonner School. Features Art Market, art class taught by Bob Phinney, award winning chili lunch prepared by Bill Wilsonoff, MAM art display, original Walter Hook pieces, music. Free admission.

Annual Forestry Day is produced by the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, The University of Montana Woodsman Team, and the Montana Society of American Foresters. Activities include collegiate and professional lumberjack competitions, including crosscut sawing, pole climbing, wood chopping, ax throwing, hot saws, and log rolling. There will also be an impressive array of historic forestry and logging equipment, operating steam-powered sawmill, restored fire lookout tower, hands-on opportunities for all, displays of crafts, and venders. Food and beverage will be available from Woodsman Team.

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for senior citizens, and $1 for students; children under 6 and members of the Friends of the Historical Museum are admitted free. While you're at the Museum, take the opportunity to see the new exhibits: “United We Will Win”, an exhibit showcasing the museum's collection of WWII propaganda posters (2nd largest in the USA), and “Signs of the Times”, an exhibit looking back at Missoula businesses and some of the unique signs created for them. May 4: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday bus tour to points along the Mullan Road corridor east of Missoula.

Norman Jacobson will lead a walk to a site on the Road to the Buffalo on Sunday, June 22. Meet at 1:30 p.m. at the parking lot at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 8985 Montana 200, Bonner, MT.

The walk is 2 miles round-trip on moderate terrain. It should take about 3 1/2 hours. Bring water and sunscreen!

Dennis Sain presents "The History of the Big Blackfoot Railroad" at the annual meeting of the Seeley Lake Historical Society at the historical barn in Seeley Lake. Schedule: 1 p.m. Museum Open House, 2 p.m. Seeley Lake Historical Society annual report, 2:20 p.m. Dennis's talk, 3 p.m. Door prize drawings, 3:15 p.m. Social refreshments including Gifford Pinchot's favorite dessert.
